Guillermo del Toro unleashed the Kaiju and Jaegers on Anaheim today, with Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures looking to prove that in Pacific Rim, size is everything.

New footage of monsters and mechs going head to head is staying in Orange County for the time being, but for everyone who couldn't make it to WonderCon, we've got the cover art for a Pacific Rim prequel comic, a series of trading cards complete with battle stats, and a new poster featuring the United States of America's Jaeger, Gipsy Danger.

At WonderCon 2013 in Anaheim, California on Friday, actors Matt Bomer (Magic Mike) and Molly Quinn (TV's Castle), as well as screenwriter Bob Goodman (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns), and casting/voice director Andrea Romano (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) appeared in front of a packed arena crowd for the world premiere of the latest DC Universe Animated Original Movie - Superman: Unbound, which was followed by a panel discussion about the film.

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick had a chance to speak with Matt Bomer, Molly Quinn, Bob Goodman, and Andrea Romano before the screening and panel on Friday about their new film. The actors and filmmakers discussed the new movie, its impressive cast, the classic Geoff Johns written comic book it is based on, and the legacy of Superman.

Opening in theaters on June 14th is the highly anticipated reboot of the Superman franchise entitled Man of Steel, which was helmed by Visionary director Zack Snyder (Watchmen). The new film was produced by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight), and based on a story he developed with screenwriter David S. Goyer (Batman Begins), who wrote the script. The new movie features an all-star cast that includes Henry Cavill (Immortals) as Clark Kent/Superman, Academy Award-nominees Amy Adams (The Fighter) as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne (What’s Love Got to Do With It) as Perry White, Diane Lane (Unfaithful) as Martha Kent, and Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road) as General Zod, as well as Emmy Award-winner Richard Schiff (TV’s The West Wing) as Dr. Emil Hamilton, and Academy Award-winners Kevin Costner (Dances with Wolves) as Jonathan Kent, and Russell Crowe (Gladiator) as Jor-El.

Goyer to talk about his new Starz series Da Vinci's Demons. While we will run our video interview with Goyer about the new series separately, the following video contains what he had to say about Man of Steel, as well as his work on Godzilla, The Invisible Man, and the legacy of Blade. The busy screenwriter discussed the upcoming reboot, his concept for Man of Steel, how his previous comic book work helped prepare him for writing the film, collaborating with director Zack Snyder, his first reaction to seeing Henry Cavill on set in the iconic Superman costume, whether or not Lex Luthor appears in the film, if the rumors are true that the Jimmy Olsen character is now female, casting Laurence Fishburne as the first African American Perry White, not planning a trilogy, which DC Comics characters he would like to see in the sequel, as well as exactly what his contributions were to the Godzilla script, the current status of The Invisible Man, and a look back at the legacy of Blade.

There is no doubt about it, we are definitely in the modern age of the comic book movie, and we really have one man to thank for that … David S. Goyer.

In my opinion, 1998’s Blade is the film that really ushered in the modern era of the comic book movie and made super hero films a viable commodity in Hollywood for the last fifteen years. In fact, Goyer’s script is still to this day used as the template for most super hero and comic book adapted movies, and the film also proved to the world that there is an audience for movies based on even the most obscure comic book character. Since penning Blade, Goyer has gone on to write such comic book based films as Blade II, Blade: Trinity (which he also directed), and Batman Begins. Not only did he help director Christopher Nolan reinvent one of the most beloved super heroes of all time, but he also developed the stories for The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and even Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

Pretty much everyone – even many of those jaded dizzards who dismiss Superman as irrelevant in our cynical modern age – agrees that the most recent trailer for this summer's Man of Steel* is spectacular.

But according to David S. Goyer, we ain't seen nothing yet, as "The trailer’s just the tiniest, tiniest tip of the iceberg.”

It's a bumper crop of new Man of Steel goodies.

Not only do we have five new scanned images from the Superman reboot showing off Henry Cavill in action as the Last Son of Krypton, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and some behind the scenes looks at Zack Snyder overseeing the action, but the director and star have also offered insights on why the hero of Man of Steel is more modern and human, despite being an extraterrestrial.

At this point, we're anything but dignified in our appetite for Man of Steel morsels.  When an image, info-nugget, or spurious rumor falls from Warner Bros.' table, we seize upon it like hungry housepets.

In related news, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams both look very dignified as Superman and Lois Lane in a new image of the pair in full costume.

Here's a rumor to take with a pickup truck-sized grain of salt: Christopher Nolan has reportedly signed on to produce Justice League, with Zack Snyder possibly directing and Christian Bale reprising the role of Bruce Wayne.

It's been over three decades since a Superman movie properly connected with moviegoers and the culture at large.  As such, this summer's Man of Steel is a bit of question mark.

But someone inside Warner Bros. has reportedly seen the reboot, after which they took some hyperbole pills and offered some insight on Zack Snyder's retelling of the Superman origin story.

It's Friday, and apparently Friday is Ladies' Night where relatively minor Man of Steel news is concerned.

Amy Adams, the incoming Lois Lane, briefly discussed her role in the Superman reboot on national television last night.  An action figure, meanwhile, has revealed our best look yet at Faora, the villainous Kryptonian sidekick played by Antje Traue.
